Privacy Policy
Welcome to Kovo's Privacy Policy. We appreciate your trust in us and are committed to being transparent about how we handle your information. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and your rights regarding your data. We strive to use simple language and minimize legal jargon to ensure clarity.
Where This Privacy Policy Applies
This Policy applies to all websites, apps, events, and services operated under the Kovo brand (collectively, our “Services”). We link to this Policy on all applicable Services. If a specific Service has its own privacy policy, that policy will govern instead of this one.
Information We Collect
To help you build meaningful connections, we collect information about you, your use of our Services, and data from third parties. Below is a detailed breakdown:
Information You Provide to Us
You voluntarily share information with us when using Kovo:
- Account Creation: At minimum, we collect your phone number, email address, gender, date of birth, and preferences for who you’d like to connect with.
- Profile Completion: You may choose to share details like sexual orientation, bio, interests, photos, and videos. To upload media, you may grant us access to your camera or photo album.
- Purchases: When subscribing to paid services or making direct purchases (not through third-party platforms like iOS or Android), we collect payment information (e.g., debit/credit card details) via our payment processors.
- Surveys/Events: Information provided in surveys, focus groups, contests, or promotions.
- Customer Support: Data shared during interactions with our support team.
- Third-Party Information: If you share contact details of others (e.g., for a feature), we process this on your behalf. We also process your chats and published content to operate and secure the Services.
Information Received from Others
- Members: Data shared by other users, such as reports involving you.
- Social Media: Information accessed when you log in via social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Google) or upload content from platforms like Instagram.
- Affiliates: As part of the Match Group family, we may receive information about banned users from other Match Group services to ensure safety.
- Partners: Data from partners where our ads are displayed, or from third parties about suspected bad actors (where legally allowed).
Automatically Collected Information
- Usage Data: Activity logs, such as login times, features used, interactions with members, and ad engagement.
- Device Data: Hardware/software details (IP address, device ID, app settings, advertising IDs, cookie identifiers).
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use these to recognize devices, though we do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” signals due to lack of industry uniformity.
Information Collected with Consent
- Precise Geolocation: Collected if you grant permission, even in the background (if permitted). Declining may limit location-dependent features.
- Photo Verification: Face geometry data (biometric in some jurisdictions) for identity verification.
- Other Media: Photos/videos uploaded for profile content or streaming features.
